Enter the Summer of 2008. I finished school, quit my job, and headed out on a jet plane to three countries in the middle east (Israel, Egypt, and Jordan), traveled to several weddings across the country, volunteered at a camp in Canada, and will soon be going to my family's cabin at Priest Lake, Idaho. Bascially what I've learned through these experiences is: I feel like a kid again. I spent the summer jumping off cliffs and waterfalls. I spent the summer in deep conversation with people from around the world about faith, politics, and life. I went kayaking, read books, watched the Democratic National Convention. I followed in the footsteps of Jesus, watched 4th of July fireworks by boat, and slept in. This has been the most amazing summer of my life. I'm not sure what comes next. But I know this. It's going to be awesome! Here are a few of my favorite pictures. The first one is me overlooking the old city of Jerusalem, Israel. The second one is me in front of the famous Sphynx outside Cairo, Egypt. The third and fourth pictures are of my friends from SummerStaff at Malibu. The fifth and sixth pictures are of me sliding down a HUGE waterfall.

Isn't it amazing? I felt the same way after Greece and the feeling has carried over a year. It'll last and you'll be better for it. It's amazing to just, as I told the students traveling to Greece this year, "let go."
What an AMAZING summer. You are so blessed to have this before heading into the adult world
you deserved this summer...im so glad you embraced it and weren't bullied into going to work fulltime right away.
I want to be YOU for awhile. Wanna trade places with a middle-aged woman with lots of life experience?
